Do i need Insurance for my efoil or jetboard?
Heres what you need to know
Currently, electric surfboards and jetboards can be covered by a specialised liability insurance. Unlike in many other countries, liability insurance for eFoils and jetboards is not yet legally required in Germany – the same applies to boats. However, in countries like Italy, Denmark, and Croatia, the situation is different. If you plan to take your eFoil or jetboard on holiday, you should definitely insure it. Even in Germany, we recommend getting coverage, as you would otherwise be personally liable for any damage to third parties (injury or property damage).
eFoils and jetboards, just like boats with more than 2.21 kW (3 HP), must be registered and display an identification number.
You can easily check the costs for liability insurance for eFoils and jetboards using the online calculator from our partner Nammert by selecting the category “Jetboard & eFoil”. You can also take out the insurance directly online through that page.
